It’s official, IKEA has broken ground on it’s second North Texas location!
Fox 4 is reporting that the new 290,000 square-foot location at State Highway 161 and Mayfield Road in Grand Prairie has officially being built starting today.
“This store will provide a more convenient IKEA shopping experience for current and potential customers throughout central and western parts of the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex who maybe live too far from IKEA Frisco,” said Lars Petersson, IKEA U.S. president.
According to the report, the new store will be similar to the Frisco store with model home interiors, room settings, a play area for the kids, and of course the Swedish meatballs.
The store is expected to employ 300 workers and open sometime next fall.
